Made for Bigmode Game Jam 2025, based on the theme "Power"

Tutorial:

WASD or Arrows Keys to move around on the map

Tiles: 

Skull - Enemy

Skull w/ horns - Elite Enemy

Skull w/ 2 pairs of horns - Boss

Question mark -Random Encounter

Heart - Healing

Chest - Treasure (50% chance to have an enemy too)

Combat:

Grey icon on the bottom left is your action points. You get 5 each turn and use 1 per card, with the exception of multiplying, which uses 3 (You'll see).

Red bar is your health.

Blue bar is your mana. You consume mana to attack or defend. Having negative mana at the end of a turn takes away from your health.

Red cards are attacks. They use the same amount of mana as the damage you deal.

Blue cards are shields: They use the same amount of mana as they defend for. These disappear at the start of your next turn, UNLESS you used the card that has a circle in the middle. That one keeps your shield for however many turns it says.

Grey cards effect your mana by adding or multiplying it. Multiplying mana takes 3 AP. Mana persists over turns.

Enemies will say their next action above their heads. You can also see their effects by hovering over them. Shield will block x damage while focus adds damage/shield to their next action.

If you have no good moves left you can press the end turn button.

Ascend the tower's 6 floors with only your trusty wand and the power of knowledge! Solve math problems to increase your mana. Spend it to defend or attack enemies. Be careful! Spending too much mana will drain your health instead!

Important: The answer to the math problems can be lower than the actual answer and still be correct. If 113x47 seems daunting, just multiply 100 by 50!

Disclaimer: This is the first time I'm making a full game. It's just me on this, & the project was definitely a bit too much too do for the time I had, so it will be scuffed. If you encounter any bugs or issues, report them & I'll fix them at some point in the future.

Unfortunately, it's 12:06 as I type this & I still haven't properly play tested the game. Since I'm out of time, there will be no sound effects in the game (for now), & there are some cards I was unable to implement. At least background music was easy to add.

Bug Workarounds: I'll put bugs and ways around them in here

No enemy for card to target - If you use an attack card w/ no enemies left, it'll just sit there. Just click next turn to end the battle.

Clicking next turn while using an attack card will not show your refreshed cards - Yeah just don't do that

Sometimes ending the battle will result in a black screen. Not quite sure what that's about :(
